Body
WHEREAS, the Family Court Division has been awarded additional funds for the Jackson County Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) Coordinator grant in the amount of $74,246.10 by the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the period of October 1, 2018, through September 30, 2021; and,
WHEREAS, the goal of this program is to provide a DMC Coordinator that will oversee the Jackson County DMC initiative to examine potential disproportionate minority disparities in the justice continuum and implement data-based prevention and system improvement strategies to reduce identified disparities in treatment of system-involved youth; and,
WHEREAS, the grant does not require local matching funds; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the additional grant funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the undesignated fund balance of the 2020 Grant Fund:
