Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office requires new pistols to replace worn-out and outdated pistols and requests the surplussing and trade-in of existing weapons that show excessive duty-related wear; and,
WHEREAS, a total of eighteen notifications were distributed and two responses were received and evaluated from the following:

and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for the furnishing of pistols for use by the Sheriff’s Office to GT Distributors of Austin, TX, as the lowest and best bid received; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1142. of the Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that the obsolete weapons and unneeded ammunition listed on the attached documentation be declared surplus and used as trade-ins for the purchase of new pistols; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the existing pistols and ammunition listed on the attached documentation be and hereby are declared surplus personal property and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to dispose of said personal property by way of trade-in, as recommended; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
