Body
WHEREAS, section 184.506, RSMo 2016, which governs the operations of the Kansas City Zoological District, provides that the district be governed by a commission whose membership is to include a resident of the County selected by a majority vote of the Legislature, chosen from among two persons nominated by The Friends of the Zoo, Inc; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature's current appointee to the commission, Kevin Pistilli, has resigned from the commission after the completion of his term; and,
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Zoo, Inc., has nominated Sharon Cleaver, Chris Egan, and Carol Hallquist to fill the vacancy; and,
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate that the Legislature adopt this Resolution appointing a member to the commission for a new four-year term; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following-named person be and hereby is appointed to the Kansas City Zoological District Commission for a new four-year term, under section 184.506, RSMo 2016:

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
