Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 20162, dated May 20, 2019, the County Counselor did execute a Legal Services Agreement with Husch Blackwell, LLP, of Kansas City, Missouri, to provide legal representation to the County in certain state court litigation involving the Rock Island Rail Corridor, at a cost to the County in 2019 not to exceed $120,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 20351, dated January 21, 2020, the amount of the Agreement was increased to $259,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the County Counselor now recommends an additional increase to this contract for services to be performed in 2020; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an addendum to the Legal Services Agreement with Husch Blackwell, LLP, for a term ending December 31, 2020, at an additional cost to the County in 2020 not exceed $89,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
