Body
WHEREAS, the Director of the Information Technology Department has recommended the replacement of the County’s existing Windstream MPLS internet service with software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) commodity internet service at several remote County locations; and,
WHEREAS, the SD-WAN technology recommended for replacement of the MPLS network connectivity at these remote County locations is more cost effective, easier to administer, offers better protection, and delivers greater overall performance than MPLS; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of an eighteen-month term and supply contract for the furnishing of SD-WAN commodity internet services for use Countywide to Global Telecom Technology of McLean, VA, under the terms and conditions of U.S. General Services Administration Contract No. GS-35F-516DA, an existing government contract; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
