Body
WHEREAS, the County has a need for small arms ammunition for use by the Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department’s Park Safety and Enforcement Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the Finance and Purchasing Department has bid this contract in the past and has not received competitive or complete bids; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Missouri’s contract with Gulf States Distributors of Montgomery, AL, offers a large selection of ammunition for the law enforcement agencies to choose from and offers higher discounts on pricing than the County would be able to obtain with its own bid; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department’s Park Safety and Enforcement Unit all recommend taking advantage of this state contract; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract, with one twelve-month option to extend, for the furnishing of ammunition to Gulf States Distributors of Montgomery, AL, under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. CC200147001, an existing competitively bid government contract; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, subject to the availability of funding in the current Jackson County budget.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
