RESOLUTION NO. 20318, December 2, 2019

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5058, dated November 28, 2017, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a program agreement with the Missouri Department of Social Services for the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has requested a one-month extension of the VOCA grant that was awarded to the County by the Missouri Department of Social Services; and,

WHEREAS, this extension will provide for continued funding for six victim advocates through the expiration date of October 31, 2019; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the contract with the Missouri Department of Social Services be extended through October 31, 2019, as recommended by the Prosecuting Attorney, and that the Prosecuting Attorney be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension.


Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
