Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office desires to add new positions within its office for the newly formed Crime Strategies Unit and additional support staff for its Independence Office; and,
WHEREAS, the Crime Strategies Unit will be implementing a new Intelligence-Driven Prosecution Model (IDPM) based on data and analysis; and,
WHEREAS, a new set of strategies will be introduced for community prosecution initiatives, neighborhood-level focus, community engagement, local information gathering, and individualized solutions to specific neighborhood-based problems; and,
WHEREAS, the Crime Strategies Unit will devote significant time to attending meetings with local community groups to gather information about community players and public safety concerns; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is needed to place the funds necessary for these positions in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has approved this transfer as an exception to the County’s Personal Services Policy set out in section 570. of the Jackson County Code; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2019 Anti-Crime Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:
