Body
WHEREAS, the greatly increased volume of appeals experienced by the Board of Equalization for the 2019 reassessment has led to anticipated increased costs; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to meet these anticipated costs and provide for increases in salary and compensation of BOE members pursuant to Ordinance 5249 now pending before the Legislature, the engagement of hearing officers, and funding increased costs of the Board of Equalization support function, including staff salaries, in connection with the processing of appeals related to the 2019 reassessment year; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2019 Assessment Fund be and hereby is made:
