A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute cooperative agreements with certain municipalities within Jackson County for the purpose of funding their 2019 Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) and related programs, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $1,174,640.00.

WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff reviewed requests by certain municipalities for 2019 DARE and related program funding and provided funding recommendations to the Jackson County Drug Commission on March 12, 2019, for the 2019 calendar year; and,
WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff and the Drug Commission now recommend these school-based drug prevention programs be funded in the following amounts:

now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute Cooperative Agreements with the cities of Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Grandview, Independence, Lee's Summit, Oak Grove, and Sugar Creek and the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $1,174,640.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
