Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19938 dated July 30, 2018, the Legislature did award a term and supply contract to Alexander Open Systems, a Converge One Company, for information technology hardware, software, and services for use by various County departments; and,

WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department is updating the back-up and data recovery solution for the County, as the County's existing system is aging and near the end of its life; and,

WHEREAS, the five-year, zero percent interest back-up and data recovery plan offered by Alexander Open Systems/Converge One Company will allow the County to replace the existing system with an integrated protection application-based system, with the ability to leverage cloud services; and,

WHEREAS, legislative authorization is required for this purchase under the existing term and supply contract due to specific indemnification language required by the vendor; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing also recommends that the County's existing data back-up and recovery equipment be declared surplus to the County's needs pursuant to section 1143 of the County Code, and that he be authorized to dispose of it by way of trade-in; now therefore,
