Body
WHEREAS, Lloyd James "Jim" Kissick III passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the age of 68; and,

WHEREAS, Jim was well known throughout the community as a highly respected businessman, community leader, and sports advocate and fan; and,

WHEREAS, Jim was the President and Co-Founder of Kissick Construction Company, which he and his nephew, Peter Browne, began in 1994; and,

WHEREAS, after graduating from Rockhurst High School, Jim attended the University of Missouri and went on to become the Director of Public Works for Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, though Kissick Construction Company began with modest roots, Jim's hard work and passion helped to grow the firm into a $100 million company with over 400 employees; and,

WHEREAS, Jim served the construction industry and community through various boards, projects and achievements, including the Heavy Constructors Association, St. Teresa's Academy Board of Advisors, the University of Missouri Civil Engineering Alumni Advisory Board of Directors, the Civil Engineering Academy Distinguished Alumnus at the University of Missouri, and the Kansas Area Development Council; and,

WHEREAS, an avid sports fan, Jim was also known for his support for NAIA basketball, serving with the Honorary Coach Program and as sponsor of many NAIA events; and,

WHEREAS, Jim enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, golfing and relaxing at his house at the Lake of the Ozarks; and,

WHEREAS, Jim will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will always remember his big bear hugs and charismatic personality; and,
