Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4925, dated October 31, 2016, the Legislature did authorize the acceptance of the 2016 SMART grant in the amount $350,000.00, received from the U.S. Department of Justice; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has requested, and the U.S. Department of Justice has approved, an extension of this grant through September 30, 2019; and,
WHEREAS, the requested extension will allow continuation of funding that is necessary for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to focus on existing and future efforts of the pilot project through the expiration date; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the 2016 SMART Prosecution Initiative Grant be and hereby is extended until September 30, 2019; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any and all County officials be and hereby are authorized to execute all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
