AN ORDINANCE transferring $42,700.00 within the 2018 General Fund and $180,000.00 within the 2018 Special Road and Bridge Fund and appropriating $491,899.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2018 Grant Fund in acceptance of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office's DWI/Traffic Safety Unit Salary Grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic and Highway Safety Division, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a contract with the Missouri Highway Safety Division for the expenditure of grant funds.

Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has been awarded a grant in the amount of $269,199.47 by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic and Highway Safety Division, for the purpose of funding a five-person DWI/Traffic Safety Unit and partial funding of a dedicated DWI Traffic Unit vehicle for the period of October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019; and,
WHEREAS, the grant is subject to a local match in the amount of $222,699.47; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff recommends the acceptance of this grant and the execution of an agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic and Highway Safety Division; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and hereby are made:
