Body
WHEREAS, Billy Goat Industries has made payments to the County for its lease of a certain portion of the Rock Island Rail Corridor for the 2017 and 2018 calendar years; and,
WHEREAS, this lease was assigned to Jackson County when it acquired the Rock Island Rail Corridor from the Union Pacific Railroad in 2016; and,
WHEREAS, under this lease, Billy Goat Industries agreed to pay $5,000.00 per year for a portion of Rock Island Corridor between Jefferson Street and Missouri 291 in Lee's Summit; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the maintenance and management agreement with the Kansas City Transportation Authority (KCATA), an appropriation is necessary in order to place the lease funds in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and is hereby made:
