Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff recommends an agreement with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to provide for the administration of naloxone by Sheriff’s personnel to persons suffering from opiate-related overdoses; and,
WHEREAS, under the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the DHSS will provide, to Sheriff’s Office personnel, training, the naloxone product, written information, technical support, and replacement dose kits; and,
WHEREAS, execution of the attached MOU with the DHSS is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Sheriff and any other County officials required be and hereby are authorized to execute the attached MOU with DSHSS.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
