A RESOLUTION transferring $8,000.00 within the 2018 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and awarding a forty-eight month contract for the furnishing of eDiscovery Services for the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to Karpel Solutions of St. Louis, MO, as a sole source purchase, at an actual annual cost to the County in the amount of $8,000.00, and a total four-year cost of $32,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office requests to contract with Karpel Solutions of St. Louis, MO, for the use of Karpel’s eDiscovery Services that will work with the office’s existing case management and criminal history reporting software; and,
WHEREAS, Karpel Solutions is the developer of the existing case management and criminal history reporting software and is considered as sole source for the upgrades or enhancements to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office existing service; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.1 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing, recommends the award of this contract, as a sole source purchase; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to fund this purchase; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2018 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that award be made as recommended by the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
