Body
WHEREAS, the Drug Task Force desires to purchase a Thermo Scientific TruNarc analyzer; and,
WHEREAS, the portable analyzer can identify multiple narcotics and controlled substances in the field with one test and provide rapid results; and,
WHEREAS, the analyzer records and provides reports for prosecution and records; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of this contract as a sole source; and,
WHEREAS, award as a sole source is appropriate as there is no other equipment with the capabilities of the TruNarc on the market; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director is authorized to make all payments, including final payment, on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
