Body
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Public School District is hosting the Summerfest - Back to School Festival, Saturday August 4, 2018, to promote education and positive youth development for the upcoming 2018 - 2019 school year; and,
WHEREAS, this program included a backpack and school supply giveaway and other programs to assist students in preparing for the upcoming school year, as well as fun activities for the whole family; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney recommends sponsorship of this program to provide an opportunity to interact within the community and stress the importance of anti-violent crime initiatives; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange for its sponsorship, Jackson County will receive recognition at the event and through social media; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is needed to place the funds for said sponsorship in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2018 General Fund be and hereby is made:
