Body
WHEREAS, the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force received a grant from the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program in the amount of $15,000.00, to provide funding for undercover operations by detectives working with the Drug Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, the grant was awarded for the period of January 1, 2015, through December 31, 2016; and,
WHEREAS, HIDTA has recently reprogrammed an additional $15,000.00 and extended the grant period to May 31, 2018, in order for the Drug Task Force to use the remaining funds; and,
WHEREAS, the reprogramming is above the normal amount of HIDTA funding that the Drug Task Force usually receives and this will not be part of any future award received by the Drug Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri State Highway Patrol will serve as the fiscal agent for this additional grant funding; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place these additional grant funds in the appropriate spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the undesignated fund balance of the 2018 Grant Fund:
