A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Urban Trail Co., for the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of single-track, multi-use trails within the Blue River Parkway, Lake Jacomo, and Landahl Park, at no cost to the County.

Body
WHEREAS, Urban Trail Co. has actively worked to construct and maintain mountain bike trails in the midwest, and has had an informal working relationship with the Jackson County Parks + Rec Department for the past ten years; and,
WHEREAS, Urban Trail Co. (UTC) has constructed and maintained over thirty miles of mountain bike trials for Blue River Parkway, Lake Jacomo, and Landahl Park; and,
WHEREAS, a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will replace an existing agreement, adding new language and clarifying responsibilities at the park locations; and,
WHEREAS, the attached MOU with UTC Co. adequately sets out the rights and obligations of the parties with regard to this arrangement, at no cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with UTC.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
