A RESOLUTION awarding a contract on Bid No. PW 03-2018 for the 2018 Pavement Maintenance Project, Phase 3 - Pavement Marking, No. 3225, to Twin Traffic Marking Co., of Kansas City, KS, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $89,203.50, and authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve line item adjustments under this contract at no additional cost to the County.

Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 03-2018 for the 2018 Pavement Maintenance Project, Phase 3 - Pavement Marking, No. 3225, for use by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, notifications were distributed through advertisement and online posting and two responses were received from the following:
VENDOR BID
Twin Traffic Marking Co.
Kansas City, KS $89,203.50
Streetwise, Inc.
Grandview, MO $106,775.15
and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends that the contract be awarded to Twin Traffic Marking Corp., of Kansas City, KS, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, the County reserved the right to adjust the quantities up or down to any and all bids to accommodate available funds within the bid specifications; and,
WHEREAS, in the event that line item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Director of Public Works be authorized to approve said line item adjustments to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
