Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 12795, dated June 28, 1999, the County did recognize West Central Missouri Regional Lodge 50 of the Fraternal Order of Police as the bargaining representative for certain employees within the Sheriff=s Department; and,
WHEREAS, the current Agreement between the County and the Lodge expired on December 31, 2017, and the parties’ negotiating teams have been meeting and conferring for the purpose of negotiating a successor MOU; and,
WHEREAS, the County and the Lodge teams have concluded their negotiations and recommend approval of the successor MOU, which will be in effect through December 31, 2020, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and,
WHEREAS, the Lodge=s bargaining unit have ratified this MOU and its approval is in the best interest of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the attached Memorandum of Understanding is authorized to be executed by the County Executive and the Jackson County Sheriff.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
