Body
WHEREAS, Paul Shelton, GIS Specialist IV, will retire December 18, 2017, after over 40 years of service to Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Paul started his career with Jackson County on December 7, 1977, as Cartographer with the Assessment Department; and,
WHEREAS, Paul has demonstrated the willingness to learn new skills, attending classes to advance his computer knowledge; and,
WHEREAS, Paul is known for his ability to step into any task where he is needed, always with a positive attitude and a smile; and,
WHEREAS, Paul is able to assist even the most troubled taxpayer with patience, kindness, and the utmost professionalism, and make all persons feel they have been heard; and,
WHEREAS, in retirement, Paul is looking forward to spending time with his wife Christy, his four children, and his ten grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, Paul and Christy enjoy lawn work and gardening, washing their cars, and traveling to national parks throughout the United States; and,
WHEREAS, Paul's co-workers will miss his knowledge and expertise, and wish him a long and happy retirement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Paul Shelton on the occasion of his retirement and extends best wishes on all of his future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
