Title
AN ORDINANCE appropriating $533,559.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2017 General Fund and authorizing an Addendum to the Agreement with Cornerstone Detention Products of Madison, AL, for the replacement of additional corridor sliding doors for use by the Department of Corrections, at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $533,559.00, under the terms and conditions of the GSA Contract No. GS-07F-269AA, an existing government contract.

Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19562, dated August 22, 2017, the Legislature did authorize the award of a contract to Cornerstone Detention Products of Madison, AL, for the repair and replacement of certain swing cell doors and corridor sliding doors within the Detention Center; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Corrections has a need for the replacement of an additional forty-nine sliding doors within the Detention Center; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends an Addendum to the Agreement for these services with Cornerstone Detention Products of Madison, AL, at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $533,559.00, under the terms and conditions of the GSA Contract No. GS-07F-269AA, an existing government contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends this purchase under the terms and conditions set forth in the GSA Contract, due to the volume discounts offered to large entities; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is needed to place the funds required for this purchase in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2017 General Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Addendum to the Agreement with Cornerstone Detention Products be and hereby is authorized as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract and addendum thereto.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
