Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office desires to participate in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Heart of America Corruption Task Force, a multijurisdictional task force formed to identify, investigate, and prosecute incidents of public corruption; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the FBI sets out the rights and obligations of each party related to this task force; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive and the Jackson County Sheriff be and are hereby authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the FBI.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
