Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature desires to hold a closed meeting on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, public notice of such closed meeting has been given by inclusion of this Resolution on the published agenda for said meeting; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of such closed meeting is to conduct confidential communications concerning existing and/or proposed security systems and structural plans of real property owned by Jackson County, the disclosure of which would threaten public safety; and,
WHEREAS, the disclosure of this information, including records to be discussed at said meeting, would impair the Legislature's ability to protect the security and/or safety of persons and/or real property, such that the public interest in nondisclosure outweighs the public interest in disclosure of such records; and,
WHEREAS, such closed meeting and closure of records is allowable under section 610.021(19) of the Revised Statutes of Missouri; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature be authorized to hold a closed meeting during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Legislature on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, pursuant to section 610.021(19), RSMo, and closing all records prepared in connection therewith.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
