IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
AN ORDINANCE appropriating $5,181.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2017 Sheriff's Revolving Fund and awarding a contract for the furnishing of an unmanned aerial system and accessories to Atlanta Drone Group d/b/a Skyfire Consulting of Decatur, GA, for use by the Sheriff's Office, at a cost to the County not to exceed $5,181.00, as a sole source purchase.

INTRODUCED BY Alfred Jordan, County Legislator
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office desires to purchase an unmanned aerial system and accessories; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for this purchase to Atlanta Drone Group d/b/a Skyfire Consulting of Decatur, GA; and,
WHEREAS, section 1030.1, Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Atlanta Drone Group is the only provider of this equipment developed for use by law enforcement; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place available funds in the Sheriff's Revolving Fund in the proper spending account for this purchase; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2017 Sheriff's Revolving Fund be and hereby is made:
