INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator


Body
WHEREAS, various County departments and the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court have miscellaneous equipment, computers, personal property, vehicles, and supplies that they can no longer use, further described and itemized in the attached Exhibits A, B, and C; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that said property be declared surplus and unusable; and,

WHEREAS, the Caplinger Mills Volunteer Fire Department of Stockton, MO, has submitted a request to the Sheriff's Office for the donation of the surplus safety equipment listed on Exhibit A; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that this surplus and obsolete safety equipment be donated to the Caplinger Mills Volunteer Fire Department; and,

WHEREAS, additionally, the Parks + Rec Department has requested the transfer from the Public Works Department of the dump truck listed on Exhibit B; and,

WHEREAS, the remaining surplus property listed on Exhibit C will be sold at auction; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the property within the various County departments further described and itemized in Exhibits A, B, and C, be and hereby is declared surplus, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it as indicated and as provided for in Chapter 11, Jackson County Code, 1984.


Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
