AN ORDINANCE appropriating $27,398.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2017 Sheriff’s Revolving Fund and awarding a contract to Worth Harley-Davidson of Kansas City, MO, for the furnishing of two Harley-Davidson Motorcycles for use by the Sheriff’s Office, under the terms and conditions of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas/Kansas City, Kansas Contract No. B26226, an existing government contract, at a cost to the County not to exceed $27,398.00, and declaring two Harley-Davidson motorcycles as surplus and authorizing their disposal by way of trade-in.

Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office desires to purchase two Harley-Davison motorcycles for its fleet; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchase recommends award of a contract for the furnishing of Harley-Davidson motorcycles to Worth Harley-Davidson of Kansas City (Platte County), MO, under the terms and conditions of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas/Kansas City, Kansas Contract No. B26226, an existing government contract, at a cost to the County not to exceed $27,398.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Director further recommends award under section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, for the reason that this will allow the County to take advantage of discounts offered to large entities; and,
WHEREAS, the Director further recommends that two existing Harley-Davidson motorcycles used by the Sheriff's Office be declared surplus and be used as trade-ins on this purchase; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff has proposed using the Sheriff’s Revolving Fund to accomplish this purchase; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds needed for this purchase in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2017 Sheriff’s Revolving Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the contract be awarded as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary for the contract; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the existing motorcycles within the Sheriff's Office be and hereby are declared surplus, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to dispose of them as trade-ins pursuant to Chapter 11 of the Jackson County Code; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
