Body
WHEREAS, the Urban Prevention Coalition is an organization formed to educate individuals, empower communities, and connect coalitions to resources surrounding the issues of alcohol, drugs, and violence; and,
WHEREAS, the Urban Prevention Coalition will be hosting the Youth Speak-out Against Violence Community Forum April 22, 2017, and has submitted a request to the COMBAT Administration for sponsorship, in the amount of $1,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, this sponsorship will allow Jackson County the opportunity to promote its Don't Look the Other Way anti-violent crime campaign; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange for its sponsorship, COMBAT will receive advertising and recognition in the event program; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to issue a check to First Call on behalf of the Urban Prevention Coalition, in the amount of $1,500.00 for advertising in its program book.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
