Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4628, dated June 9, 2014, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission ("the Commission") in connection with the Browning Road Bridge Replacement Project, No. 3046; and,

WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4937, dated December 5, 2016, the Legislature did award a contract on Bid No. PW 07-2016 for the Browning Road Bridge Replacement Project, No. 3046, Federal Project BRO-NBIL-048(54) to Redford Construction of Raymore, MO, at a cost to the County not to exceed $410,253.00; and,

WHEREAS, Redford Construction has begun excavation of soil for the bridge foundation and has determined that the foundation elevation is unsuitable to properly support the weight of the bridge; and,

WHEREAS, additional work will be required to fill the site with suitable material to complete the project; and,

WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $38,642.00 is needed to provide additional funds to cover the costs of this additional work; and,

WHEREAS, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved the requested change order; and,

WHEREAS, completion of this project is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Change Order No. 1 to the aforesaid contract be, and is hereby, approved, and the County Executive be, and is hereby authorized to execute said change order on behalf of the County; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to...
