Body
WHEREAS, Jacob Alan Rush of Lee's Summit, Missouri, has successfully completed all requirements to attain Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, only approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, earning the rank of Eagle Scout is an important milestone which carries special significance not only in Scouting, but also throughout a young man's pursuit of higher education, business ventures, or community service; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob, a member of Scout Troop 323, Heart of America Council, Thunderbird District, was presented with his Eagle Scout badge at the Eagle Court of Honor held November 13, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lee's Summit; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob has been a Scout for ten years and has served as Scribe, Senior Patrol Leader, and Patrol Leader; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob received the Arrow of Light Award in 2012 and is a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say; and,
WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout Project, Jacob replaced a decaying sidewalk and curbing at the First Presbyterian Church of Lee's Summit; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob is a student at Lee's Summit West High School where he enjoys debate, scholar bowl, and band; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob's proud parents, Tim and Michelle Rush, join in his celebration of this honor; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Jacob Alan Rush upon successfully completing all requirements to attain Scouting's highest honor, the rank...
