Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17999, dated October 15, 2012, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Carpenters' District Council of Greater St. Louis & Vicinity to govern the terms and conditions of employment of members of its bargaining unit within the Prosecuting Attorney's Office through December 31, 2016; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19334, dated December 5, 2016, the Legislature did authorize the extension of the MOU with the Carpenters' District Council of Greater St. Louis & Vicinity, through February 15, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, the parties have continued negotiations on a successor MOU, but have not yet reached agreement; and,
WHEREAS, in view of the pending negotiations, and in anticipation of arriving at a successor MOU, the Legislature has determined that it is appropriate to extend the terms of the prior MOU, through March 15, 2017; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive and the Prosecuting Attorney be and hereby are authorized to execute an Agreement to extend the MOU with the Carpenters' District Council of Greater St. Louis & Vicinity, for a period ending March 15, 2017, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
