Body
WHEREAS, the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas City, Missouri, has received a grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety in the amount of $676,673.98, for the Missouri Western Interdiction and Narcotics (MoWIN) Task Force, of which $111,203.00 has been allocated to Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the County’s portion of the grant proceeds will be used to provide salary and a vehicle allowance for two deputies within the Sheriff’s Office; and,
WHEREAS, the grant requires no match and is for the period of July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
