Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19023, dated December 1, 2015, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) related to the acquisition of the Rock Island Rail Corridor (RIRC); and,
WHEREAS, section 3.3 of the Cooperative Agreement expressed the intent of both parties to negotiate and agree to the management and maintenance of the RIRC; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Maintenance and Management Program Agreement sets out the rights and responsibilities of each party related to the RIRC; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and is hereby authorized to execute the attached Maintenance and Management Program Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
