Body
WHEREAS, Marietta McConnell, Administrative Assistant for the County Clerk's Office, is retiring December 31, 2016, after forty-two years of service to Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, Marietta began working for the County on September 5, 1974, in the Assessment Department, where she worked for eleven years; and,

WHEREAS, after a brief absence from the County, in 1986 the Clerk of the Legislature, Bernice Conley, asked Marietta to come back to work in the Clerk's Office; and,

WHEREAS, since 1986 Marietta has served the County as a notary clerk, typist, secretary, and administrative assistant; and,

WHEREAS, Marietta initiated and developed programs through years of technological advancements to improve the County's notary, elections, boards and commissions, and contract systems; and,
WHEREAS, Marietta is known for her helpful, cheerful, and sunny disposition, providing a knowledgeable source of information for any question; and,

WHEREAS, throughout her years of service to the County, Marietta has been a devoted, hard-working employee with the willingness to step in to help wherever she is needed; and,

WHEREAS, in retirement, Marietta plans to spend more time volunteering at her church and on her hobbies, fishing, remodeling her home, and refurbishing furniture; and,

WHEREAS, on this special occasion, Marietta's friends and family, including her son, Timothy Gibson, her daughter, Erika McConnell, her grandchildren, Jasmine, Tymmi, Sonny, Kenedye, Kendall, Kacey, Aveon, and Caprice, and great-grandson Ethen, ...
