AN ORDINANCE appropriating $16,114.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2016 Federal Forfeiture Fund and awarding a contract for the furnishing of an unmanned aerial system with associated training and maintenance to Skyfire Consulting, LLC, for use by the Sheriff's Office, at a cost to the County not to exceed $16,114.00, as a sole source purchase.

Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office desires to purchase an unmanned aerial system and related services; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for this purchase to Skyfire Consulting, LLC, of Decatur, GA; and,
WHEREAS, section 1030.1, Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Skyfire Consulting is the only provider of the product with the related training and maintence that the Sheriff's Office requires; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place available funds in the Federal Forfeiture Fund in the proper spending account for this purchase; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2016 Federal Forfeiture Fund be and hereby is made:
