Body
WHEREAS, the County has a need for vehicle liability insurance for use by various County departments; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing solicited bids for this insurance on Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 69.15, but received no bids thereon; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Public Entity Risk Management Fund (MOPERM) of Jefferson City, Missouri, was previously awarded this contract pursuant to Resolution 19018, dated November 30, 2015; and,
WHEREAS, after extensive negotiation, the Director of Finance and Purchasing was able to secure a quote from MOPERM at a rate $30,000.00 lower than what was contracted for0 in 2015; and,
WHEREAS, the Director recommends the award of a twelve-month contract for the furnishing of vehicle liability insurance for use Countywide to MOPERM, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $187,288.00; and,
WHEREAS, award of this contract is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby authorized, to execute for the County any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.
