Title: Pursuant to section 706.1, Jackson County Code, 1984, I hereby promulgate the attached amendment to section 11.1 of the Personnel Rules for Jackson County Employees. Section 11.1 - Official Application Forms/Ban the Box The County shall furnish employment applications in a form designated by the Director of Human Resources with the approval of the Manager of the Division of Administration. No applicant for County employment shall be required to make any representation regarding the applicant's criminal history, or lack thereof, on the applicant's initial application for employment. This provision shall not be construed to prevent the Director of Human Resources from conducting or authorizing the conducting of a background check on any applicant for employment, nor shall it prevent any county appointing authority from making inquiry of any applicant for employment, during an employment interview or otherwise, into the applicant's criminal history or lack thereof.

Title
