AN ORDINANCE appropriating $88,195.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2016 General Fund to cover the cost of outside attorneys’ fees for use by the Office of the County Counselor.

Body
WHEREAS, the County Counselor’s Office reached a successful conclusion on several pending legal matters and was able to terminate contracts with certain outside attorneys; and,
WHEREAS, the County Counselor recommends that the funds made available from terminating these contracts be re-appropriated for use on other legal matters within his office; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place these funds in the appropriate spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation within the 2016 General Fund be and hereby is made:
