Body
WHEREAS, Colonel Jay D. Haden recently celebrated his retirement from service in the United States Army Reserve, having served since 1985; and,

WHEREAS, throughout that time, Jay has also served as Chief Deputy County Counselor, earning respect for his vast knowledge on all aspects of the County's business; and,

WHEREAS, Jay is a graduate of Rockhurst College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, the University of Missouri - Kansas City with a Juris Doctor degree, and the United States Army War College with a Master of Strategic Studies degree; and,

WHEREAS, during his military career, Jay has served two assignments on active duty, first from October 2004 to October 2005, stationed with the 326th Area Support Group, at Al Asad Airbase in Iraq, and, the second from June 2009 to June 2010, stationed with the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, Camp Eggers, Kabul; and,

WHEREAS, Jay is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Services Medal, the Superior Unit Award, and the Combat Action Badge, among many other honors and recognition for his meritorious service to the country; and,

WHEREAS, throughout the County, Jay is known for being the "go to guy" on all County matters, with a willingness to patiently explain to each new administration its obligations and responsibilities ...
