Body
WHEREAS, Grandparents Against Gun Violence, a program of the Heartland Coalition Against Gun Violence is hosting the Third Annual Community Forum event, Gun Violence - The Culture of Fear on October 10, 2016, at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center; and,
WHEREAS, Grandparents Against Gun Violence has submitted a request in the amount of $250.00 to COMBAT for sponsorship of this anti-violent crime event; and,
WHEREAS, this sponsorship will allow Jackson County the opportunity to promote its anti-violent crime campaign; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange for its sponsorship, COMBAT will receive advertising in the event program and promotional materials; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized issue a check to Grandparents Against Gun Violence, in the amount of $250.00, for sponsorship of its Third Annual Community Forum event.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
