Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 04-2016 for the 2016 Pavement Maintenance Phase 4 - Pavement Marking, No. 3198, for use by the Public Works Department; and,

WHEREAS, notifications were distributed through advertisement and online posting and two responses were received from the following:
VENDOR BID

Streetwise, Inc.
Grandview, MO $59,428.69

Twin Traffic Marking Corp.
Kansas City, KS $63,074.95

and,


WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends that the contract be awarded to Streetwise, Inc. of Grandview, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, after the bids were opened, the Director of Public Works recommended an additional project consisting of striping on Pink Hill Road from Tonya Street to the City of Blue Springs city limits; and,

WHEREAS, this additional work on Pink Hill Road at the unit prices bid by Streetwise will increase the contract by $9,565.60, to a total revised amount of $68,994.29; and,

WHEREAS, the County reserved the right to adjust the quantities up or down to any and all bids to accommodate available funds within the bid specifications; and,

WHEREAS, in the event that line item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Director of Public Works be authorized to approve said line item adjustments to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; now t...
