Body
WHEREAS, the Martin City Community Improvement District (CID) was recognized with the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri’s Cornerstone Award on May 11, 2016, at Union Station; and,
WHEREAS, the Cornerstone Award was established to recognize companies and organizations that contribute to the growth of Kansas City’s economy; and,
WHEREAS, the award finalists represent the geographic diversity of our community and are selected based on the highest and best impact in improving economic development and growth in Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to being named a Cornerstone Award winner, Martin City CID was also selected for the People’s Choice Award through a public ten-day vote on Facebook; and,
WHEREAS, the Martin City Community Improvement District was formed in 2005 and is composed of over 70 businesses in the Martin City area; and,
WHEREAS, the Cornerstone and People’s Choice Awards reflect the hard work of numerous people in Martin City to bring vibrancy to the district; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Martin City Community Improvement District upon its receipt of the Cornerstone and People’s Choice Awards and wish them continued success in all of its future endeavors.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
