AN ORDINANCE amending the zoning districts established pursuant to the Unified Development Code by changing a certain 3.15 ± acre tract from District AG (Agricultural) to District RE (Residential Estates).

ORDINANCE NO. 4848, June 6, 2016

 

 

Body

 BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Zoning Order of Jackson County, Missouri, and the official maps which are a part thereof, are amended by changing the boundaries of the "AG" (Agricultural) District and the "RE" (Residential Estates) District, so that there will be transferred from District AG to District RE, a tract of land commonly known as 23112 E. Meyers Road, Independence, MO, specifically described as follows:

 

Description:   A tract of land in the Northwest Quarter of Section 35, Township 51, Range 31 in Jackson County, Missouri described as follows:  Commencing at the Southwest corner of said Northwest Quarter-Section;  Thence South 87º10’21” East, along the South line of said Quarter-Section, a distance of 974.55 feet to the Point of Beginning;  Thence North 3º22’58” East, a distance of 648.00 feet;  Thence South 87º10’21” East, a distance of 212.00 feet to the Northwest corner of LOT 2, HUGHES FAMILY FARMSTEAD, a subdivision of land in said County and State;  Thence South 3º22’58” West, along the West boundary of said plat, a distance of 648.00 feet to a point on the South line of said Northwest Quarter-Section;  Thence North 87º10’21” West, along said South line, a distance of 212.00 feet to the Point of Beginning.  Except that part in E. Meyers Road, if any.

 

 

 

 

 

Section 2.  The Legislature, pursuant to the application of the Ammon E. Essig and Thelma M. Hughes (RZ-2016-532), requesting the amendment embodied in this Ordinance and with notice that the Jackson County Plan Commission voted 9 to 0 to recommend APPROVAL of this application after a public hearing on May 19, 2016, does adopt this Ordinance pursuant to the Jackson County Charter authorizing the Legislature to exercise legislative power pertaining to planning and zoning.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
