Body
WHEREAS, Heart of America Stand Down Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists veterans in our community; and,
WHEREAS, Heart of America Stand Down has submitted a request in the amount of $500.00 to COMBAT for sponsorship of its Stand Down event to be held May 27, 2016; and,
WHEREAS, this sponsorship will allow Jackson County the opportunity to promote its anti-violent crime campaign; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange for its sponsorship, COMBAT will receive advertising in the event program and recognition at the event; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized issue a check to Heart of America Stand Down, in the amount of $500.00 for sponsorship of its 2016 Stand Down event.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
