Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 18943, dated September 28, 2015, the Legislature did authorize a Cooperative Agreement with the River of Refuge for the furnishing of a transitional housing program to provide safe housing and case management services to Kansas City area working poor families that are homeless and living in motels, at a cost to the County for 2015 in the amount of $25,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19043, dated January 19, 2016, the Legislature did authorize a Cooperative Agreement with the River of Refuge for 2016 at a cost to the County in the amount of $50,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, because River of Refuge's 2015 agreement was authorized near the end of the 2015 fiscal year, the agency was unable to spend its complete allocation prior to the expiration of the agreement; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislative Auditor recommends the reappropriation of River of Refuge's unspent funds from 2015 for use during 2016; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of an Addendum to the Cooperative Agreement with River of Refuge for transitional housing services is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2016 Health Fund be and hereby is made:
