Body
WHEREAS, the Parks + Rec Department is in need of a new building for its Parks Operati*-ons Division located northwest of the new park ranger offices at 3310 NE Rennau Drive; and,

WHEREAS, the new building will be a pre-fabricated metal storage building with overhead garage door, concrete floor, plumbing, offices, and other facilities; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 08-2016 for the Parks + Rec Fleming Park Maintenance Facility Project, No. 3200; and,

WHEREAS, he has received three bids thereon, as follows:

KES Construction, LLC $1,202,919.58
Overland Park, KS

Larrison Construction, Inc. $1,351,365.15
Independence, MO

The Wilson Group, Inc. $1,358,087.00
Greenwood, MO

and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends that award be made to KES Construction, LLC, of Overland Park, KS, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,

WHEREAS, adjustments were made to the low bid for math errors and the information technology work allowance in the bid, in the amount of $25,000.00, has been removed from the bid with this work being accomplished through other term and supply contracts; and,

WHEREAS, this bid exceeded the County requirements of five percent minimum with an MBE/WBE/VBE breakdown of eleven percent MBE, seven percent WBE, and six percent VBE; and,
