Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19080, dated February 22, 2016, the Legislature authorized the execution of a Cooperative Agreement in the amount of $40,000.00 with Cornerstones of Care for the furnishing of anti-drug and anti-violent crime related activities, to provide a local match to federal, state, local, and/or private grant funds; and,

WHEREAS, Cornerstones of Care has informed the COMBAT staff it is unable to meet the contract's requirement of the matching funds; and,

WHEREAS, for this reason, the portion of Resolution 19080 awarding funds to Cornerstones of Care must be rescinded to make these funds available for another program; and,

WHEREAS, the Jackson County Family Court Division has submitted a funding proposal for its Night Light Program, designed to hold youth accountable for their actions, reduce delinquent behavior, encourage sound social decision-making behavior, and reduce illegal substance abuse; and,

WHEREAS, this program meets the mission and goals of COMBAT toward reduction of violent crime within Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, in order to fund this program, a transfer is necessary to place these funds into the proper spending account; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2016 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:
